Find your way around

The editor has four parts, from left to right: the category rail, the garment panel, the stage and the inspector. It needs a computer; on a phone it asks you to switch.

The category rail

The category rail is the column of icons on the far left, with Clothing above Accessories. Hover an icon for the category’s name and how many garments it holds. A dot on an icon means something in that category needs a look. With a keyboard, the arrow keys move along the rail and Enter opens a category.

The garment panel

The garment panel shows the open category’s garments, as Cards with a picture of each or as a List with the file, the number of variants and the status. A garment is named after its category and a number, like Top 4.

Right-click a garment, or press Shift+F10 on it, for a menu of what can be done to it: Put on or Take off, Show in the inspector, Edit texture, Move to index, Move to category, Duplicate garment and Remove garment, which asks first. Opening the menu selects nothing.

The stage

The stage in the middle shows the ped in 3D. Outfit shows everything the ped wears, and Isolate shows the selected garment on its own. Drag to rotate, right-drag to pan, and scroll to zoom towards whatever is under the pointer, such as the face. Double-click the ped to turn around that point, and press Reset view, or F, to put the camera back.

The inspector

The inspector on the right shows the selected garment: its name, its file name, like jbib 003, the Wear this button, its variants and three groups, Texture, Garment and Optimization, closed when you open a project. Click a group to open it, and it stays open until you close it again. Hide details, at the top right of the stage, puts it away for a bigger stage. In a narrower window, the garment panel and the inspector slide in from the sides instead.
